Our Class Saints
The Saints were not superhuman. They were people who loved God in their heart, and who shared this joy with others.
POPE FRANCIS
We are all called to be Saints. At St John Fisher, we want to help our pupils to respond to Pope Francis’ call to holiness. Saints play an important part in motivating our children to respond to this call. They are role models, they inspire us to lead lives full of joy; they can inspire us and teach us that holiness means being who you are. We teach our children that Saints can pray for us from heaven. Through their intercession we can gain the strength we need to become the people that God created us to be. Each class has a dedicated Class Patron Saint as well as our School Patron Saint and House Saints. At the start of the academic year, pupils learn about their class Saint, the virtues they exhibited and their special story that led them to Sainthood. As the year progresses, pupils make links between Gospel stories, the lives of Saints and how they should live their lives.

At St John Fisher, every prayer ends with, “St John Fisher, Pray For Us,” and every prayer said in class ends with, “St John Fisher and, [NAME OF CLASS SAINT], Pray For Us” – a constant reminder of the role of the Saints in our lives.
