Bag2School was founded in 2001 and now works with over 20,000 schools in organising textile collections to raise money for school PTAs and clubs.
Bag2School is a business (not a charity) and specialise in collecting unwanted textiles in good condition which are then sold to export markets worldwide where they are sorted and then sold to the general public.
Bag2School collects good quality second hand adults and children's clothing, sheets, blankets, curtains, soft toys, shoes, belts and handbags. All items collected are for RE-USE.
Please note they cannot accept
• Dirty or wet clothing
• Single shoes
• Off cuts of material
• Bric A Brac
All clothing collected by Bag2School is sold, either sorted or un-sorted, to importers and wholesalers in many countries of Eastern and Western Europe, Africa and Asia.
Regardless of whether clothes are given to charities, clothing banks, council collections or Bag2School this is where the goods are all sold. 80 % of discarded clothing goes for re-use as clothes and the other 20 % enters the recycling industry for bed manufacture, socks, blankets and the industrial wiper trade. The only alternative to this is for the goods to go to a landfill site.
So what do we get?
Currently we are paid £500 per Tonne (50p per kilo).
Thank you to everyone who donated items.
