Free School Meals

Very few parents at St John Fisher claim their entitlement to free school meals.  It is very important for the school that all those who are eligible apply.  In addition to the child being able to have a free school dinner should they want one, the school also receives an amount of money for every pupil who is registered as having a free school meal!   This is called the, 'Pupil Premium'.

This money goes towards ensuring that we have teachers that can support the class teacher with learning - for example additional reading support and support with teaching English to those new to the language.

If we are to maintain and improve upon the level of specialist teaching we can provide for pupils, more families need to claim their entitlement for Free School Meals!

Remember, just because you register for Free School Meals, it doesn't mean that your child has to have one!  For additional information please see the information on the, 'Pupil Premium' on the website - under heading, 'Key Information', on the menu bar at the top.
