At St. John Fisher’s School we believe PE & Sport plays an important role in children’s education, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better. We therefore welcomed the Government’s announcement in June 2013 to provide additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. We are committed to using this resource in developing high quality PE lessons, alongside greater opportunities for sporting competitions and clubs for all our young people.
PE and Sports Premium Report 2020-21
Previous PE and Sports Premium Reports
Our school has used the premium to fund the, 'Silver Level Service with Gold Top Up Agreement', with our School Sports Partnership, 'Willow Tree School Sport Partnership'. Funding is also used to cover the cost of travel to sporting venues and also for cover for the teachers involved.
We feel that this is the most effective and efficient way for the funding to have a long lasting and positive effect on future learning and physical development of children within our school.
The school receives an £8,000 lump sum plus £5 per pupil in Years 1-6, paid in two installments via Ealing LA in October and April.
We are spending this money on:
-Promoting Healthy Eating
-Willow Tree Sports Partnership
- provides the school with CPD for staff,
- provides existing staff with training or resources to help them teach PE and sport more effectively,
- introduce a more dynamic PE curriculum Map,
- increase pupils’ participation in the School Games.
This has all had a positive impact on the children’s attitude to sports, behaviour at lunchtimes and staff confidence in teaching PE.
